A Strategic Day in DC
Planning and Strategizing
Today we are all virtual in some way or another. We're all glued to our cell phones which keep us connected all the time. More and more people are working remotely and we all know that meetings are something to avoid when possible.
While all this is true, there is still great value in meeting face to face, especially for a creative team based across various states and time zones. My creative team meets a couple of times a year with the intent of locking ourselves in a hotel meeting room and taking advantage of being together to brainstorm, strategize and simply work together.
Our campaigns are so diverse these days that it's easy to get lost focusing on one area or to lose continuity across platforms and mediums. Print advertising is a good example. Our team has a heavy focus on digital content but we still have a large print presence - print is not dead, especially for niche B2B markets.
Sometime you need to literally put things on wall, take a step back and collaborate with your team. Our virtual world is great, but it will never replace the value of being in the room with other people and talking face to face.
